Brit Awards 2012 Best Dressed

23 Feb

The 2012 Brit Awards were held Tuesday night at the 02 Arena in South-East London. Here are my choices for that night’s Best Dressed Females! By the way, you will notice the neon trend is in full force! In-case you missed my blog about that, check it out! -> https://ekstead.wordpress.com/2012/02/22/neon/

1. Kylie Minogue- She looks stunning in this gorgeous neon-blue gown with a very age-appropriate slit. She stands out from the crowd in the best way possible! Can you believe this woman is going to be 44 this year?!? I want this dress! Well at least one that is this exact color.. and cheaper… She looks flawless from head-to-toe!

2. Lana Del Rey- The best way to describe this ensemble is simple elegance. By going light on the jewelry, and having a classic side-swept hairdo, she really looks effortlessly beautiful in this off-the-shoulders red gown. A winner in my books!

3. Millie Mackintosh- This neon-aqua colored strapless gown looks a-ma-zing against her tanned skin. The silver accented belt and the slit gives the gown an edge, while still staying elegant. Again, by going for a more simple look with the jewelry and hair, she allows this figure-flattering gown get the spotlight it deserves.

4. Rihanna- What a dress! This glitzy dress shows of her toned body, and has that Rihanna edge to it that I love to see (with the plunging neckline and front slit). I am not a fan of the hair and gloves, but the dress more than makes up for that! She’s young and able to pull-off this style which I think she most certainly did!

5. Emma Bunton- Cute, fun, and youthful are the words that come to mind when I see this. This is how you wear a see-through neon orange garment (take note Fergie). She lets the orange pop by going black all the way to her toes (and with her clutch). Her simple hairdo makes this whole ensemble fresh and youthful. She’s just looks so darn cute!

6. Jo Whiley- A one sleeved black gown can definitely look pretty bland, but not this one! With Jo’s use of neon-green in her jewelry and shoes, it really balances the whole thing out. This is a great example of how to add neon to any black dress to give it that pop!

7. Lisa Snowdon- Another great example of how to add neon to an outfit. This white bandage dress is form fitting and looks great on her, but leaves little to be desired. Yet, the neon-orange shoes add that something extra and really make the outfit fun! She could have left the clutch and watch behind, but the shoes make up for it!

8. Fearne Cotton- LOVE those shoes. Her look is simple yet fun. That white blouse had the potential to look too mature on her if paired with something else; but with the short black skirt, and amazing black heels, it really balances the outfit. She wanted to show off those legs, and that she did!

9. Holly Willoughby- Black dress, black shoes, black clutch… But with the curve-hugging fit, plunging neck line, shorter length, and beautifully styled blond locks she nails it. She definitely knows how to show off her assets (without overdoing it). An overall great look!

10. Adele- Adele in black again?? Shocking… (sarcasm) It’s what I, and I’m sure everyone else, expected. I really reallyyyy want her to surprise me one of these days! Waiting for more of an age-appropriate dress (starting to doubt if that day will come). Saying that, she made it on the list because there’s not denying she looks great. The hair, make-up and jewelry make up for the black dress. Classic looking as always.

My WORST dressed list will be posted later today so stay tuned!
